Compatibility Horoscope
69Compatibility Horoscope...what's it all about? Does it really matter if you're a Leo and he's an Aries? Can two Librans really live together? How can we prepare ourselves before leaping feet first into a relationship? What if they're not "the one"....
Fortunately, this is where compatibility horoscopes come in. There are those people that believe our star signs can dictate whether a relationship will fail or survive. I'll give you my take on this later, but first, let me explain the basics, and the thinking behind it. And if at any time, you want a bit more info on this subject, be sure to check out our horoscope compatibility blog.
Hopefully, you will know there are 12 signs of the zodiac. And in Western Astrology, each star sign is believed to be categorised under 4 separate elements, as follows. Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), Earth (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn), Air (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius), and Water (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces). But what does each element actually mean?
Well... Fire is considered to desire freedom. Air is considered to also desire freedom (but slightly differently than 'fire') Earth is considered to desire security Water is considered to need security (but slightly differently than 'earth').
Now, in sun signs comparisons, it is generally believed that you 'get on best' with others who share the same element as you, or are from a 'complementary element' i.e. as above, fire and air are complementary with eachother, and earth are with water.
On this basis, you would assume that everyone born under Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius get on best with Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.

There are schools of thought that believe it's not as straightforward as that. The belief here is that these signs that are considered to 'get on the best' can actually have one of two relationships. Either they will get on incredibly well, or incredibly bad. There is no 'in-between'. This belief also translates into signs that are considered 'opposites' in the zodiac chart. Such as Aries(fire) and Libra (air).
I have read a whole lot of material on this subject over the years, and, quite frankly, it's a minefield. I start to get lost with talk of opposites, and at this point I realised that all I actually wanted to know was...
So, in a relationship, which sign is actually compatible with which?
Ok ok lets cut a long story short...this in a nutshell is what you were looking for is it not. The compatibility horoscopes are as follows:
* Aries with Leo, Sagittarius, Aquarius, Gemini, and Libra.
* Taurus with Virgo, Capricorn, Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio.
* Gemini with Libra, Aquarius, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.
* Cancer with Scorpio, Pisces, Virgo, Taurus, and Capricorn.
* Leo with Sagittarius, Aries, Libra, Gemini, and Aquarius.
* Virgo with Taurus Capricorn, Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces.
* Libra with Gemini, Aquarius, Leo, Sagittarius, and Aries.
* Scorpio with Cancer, Pisces, Capricorn, Virgo, and Taurus.
* Sagittarius with Leo, Aries, Libra, Aquarius, and Gemini.
* Capricorn with Virgo, Taurus, Scorpio, Pisces, and Cancer.
* Aquarius with Gemini, Libra, Aries, Sagittarius, and Leo.
* Pisces with Cancer, Scorpio, Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo.
Of course, do not take this as gospel. I'm an Earth sign and my partner is Fire, and yet I find we complement eachother perfectly. We've never had an argument, we get on famously, and she's the love of my life...end of story. So, by all means, use a compatiblity horoscope where needed, but for goodness sake, don't let it rule your life...you might just miss out on the best person to have ever happened to you.
There are plenty of other places that can explain this all far better than me, but don't forget our Compatibility Horoscope Blog
